Recording your first session
Step-by-step through starting, monitoring, and finishing a recording.
This walks through a complete recording, from pressing record to walking away with a finished brief you can hand to your AI.
1. Start the recording
With the Mac app, launch a recording from the menu bar or with your global hotkey — no need to switch apps first. In the browser, click record on the dashboard and grant microphone or screen-sharing access when prompted.
Because the Mac app captures your screen and system audio, there’s no bot to invite or participant-list entry. Tell people when required and follow your organization’s policy and applicable consent laws.
2. Watch it work
The recording bar shows elapsed time and whether capture is active. During long Mac sessions, sealed audio segments upload and can add processed transcript and notes in batches. The browser recorder uploads the completed capture after you stop; it does not show live captions.
3. Stop and review
Press stop. After upload and processing, a final pass produces the polished brief: title, TL;DR, decisions, and owner-tagged follow-ups, all sitting on top of the full transcript.
4. Keep, paste, or share it

- Find it on disk — with the Mac app it’s already written to your folder as Markdown, JSON, and audio.
Want a different structure? Open the completed recording, choose a built-in format or one of your custom templates, and select Regenerate. You can also edit the Markdown directly.
