Keyboard shortcuts
Summon Eavesy, start and stop recording, and capture without reaching for the mouse.
Eavesy is built to stay out of your way — a floating panel you summon with a hotkey, capture from, and dismiss, without switching apps.
The global hotkey
The Mac app lives behind a global hotkey that opens the Eavesy panel from anywhere, like a command palette. From the panel you can start a recording, jump to a recent session, or run a quick capture.
Eavesy’s shortcuts are configurable. Open Settings → Shortcuts to see the current bindings and remap any of them — including the global hotkey — to keys that don’t collide with your other tools.
What you can do from the keyboard
- Summon the panel — open Eavesy over whatever you’re doing.
- Start / stop recording — without leaving your call.
- Quick capture — grab audio, a screen recording, or a screenshot in one motion.
- Search your sessions — start typing to jump to a past session.
In the browser
The web quick-capture bar uses a leader key followed by a letter to pick what to capture (audio, video, or a screenshot). Open the bar to see the current shortcuts for your browser.
Standard macOS shortcuts
Inside a session, the usual macOS conventions apply:
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Copy the brief | ⌘ C |
| Find in transcript | ⌘ F |
| Close the panel | Esc |
