Open source and self-hosting
Eavesy's licence, where the code lives, how to run your own server, and how to contribute.
Eavesy is open source under the Apache License 2.0. The Mac app, the web app, the processing worker and the MCP server all live in one repository: github.com/williamrogersdev/eavesy.
eavesy.com runs the same code you can read there.
What's in the repository
| Folder | What it is |
|---|---|
desktop/ | The Mac app |
web/ | The web app, the site and these docs |
workers/processing | Transcription and brief processing |
workers/mcp | The MCP server |
docs/ | Architecture, self-hosting, deploys and releases |
Run your own server
You can run Eavesy in your own Cloudflare account and point the Mac app at it. You'll need a Cloudflare account on the Workers Paid plan, a Clerk application for sign-in, and an Anthropic API key.
Follow docs/SELF_HOSTING.md. It also covers a local mode for hacking on Eavesy with no accounts at all.
On your own server, you can change the fair-use limits with environment variables.
Contribute
Issues and pull requests are welcome. For anything bigger than a small fix, open an issue first. Setup, the test commands, and the sign-off rules are in CONTRIBUTING.md.
