Search and chat

Find a past recording by meaning, and ask questions about one recording.

Search and chat work on recordings and dictations saved to your account, so they need you to be signed in.

Open Search in the web app and describe what you're looking for. Search matches meaning as well as words, so "when did we pick the launch date" can find a moment where nobody said "launch". Each result shows an excerpt and links to the recording.

Your library on the web also lists every recording with its title and date, and you can filter it by title.

Ask across completed recordings

Open Ask your library in the web app to ask a focused question across completed account recordings. Supported answers include source excerpts and links to recordings. Cloud answers need to be enabled. An answer can abstain, leave parts unanswered, or warn about context limits; inspect the sources before relying on it.

Use Refresh library index when older recordings need indexing. Queueing work is not the same as finishing processing. Follow any limit or retry message shown by the app.

See the decision retrieval guide and the source-checking example.

Chat with a recording

Open a recording on the web and ask a question in the chat beside it, such as "What are my action items?" or "Draft a follow-up email". Answers come from that recording's transcript.

Search your files on disk

Everything the Mac app saves is plain Markdown, so Spotlight, grep, your editor, or an agent with file access can search it too. Screenshots and clipboard notes only live on disk, so this is the way to search them.

grep -ril "pricing" ~/Eavesy/Recordings/*/transcript.md
